Wild hair ideas are serendipitous, unexpected ideas that sneak up and surprise you. Wild Hair Retreats is our evolving wild hair idea. We didn’t see any of this coming, but it’s been so much fun and a whole lot of work. It all started with a crazy idea to open up our newly built family home (The Big House) as an occasional short term vacation rental way back in 2010. And we just kept doing it for the next 12 years!
In 2021, we had the unexpected opportunity to buy the property next door and we immediately recognized the opportunity to create a couple more fun short term rental vacation retreat spaces — The Studio and The Spartan, both overlooking the one acre organic farm on the property. We now call that Wild Hair Farm.
Life is busy. The world is loud.
Our aim is to provide beautifully designed, well equipped spaces where our guests can, for just short while, retreat and rest. The Big House, The Studio and The Spartan are located in the delightful Corralitos valley, in the country, and yet just a short drive to the beach, wine tasting, Lopez Lake, the historic Village of Arroyo Grande, and downtown SLO.

For the best rates and no booking fees, you can book your stay right here on our website. Or, if you prefer, to pay higher rates and 15% booking fees, you can book over at Airbnb, VRBO, or one of the other online travel agencies.
Direct booking is always at least 15% cheaper!
We are so grateful for Airbnb and VRBO, but our aim over time is to establish our own brand to develop our own family of direct booking guests so we’re less dependent on platforms that we can’t control.
If you prefer, for some reason, to use Airbnb, you are free to do so. Click any space below to go to the Airbnb listing.
We allow cancellation up to 5 days before check in with a full refund. If you cancel within 5 days of your stay, we charge a 50% cancellation fee and refund the remaining 50%.
While we love our furry friends as much as you do, Wild Hair Retreats has a strict “No Pets” policy. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
No guarantees, but we always do what we can. It all depends on the availability and schedule of our cleaners, especially on days with back to back guests.
You bet! We’ve created a comprehensive digital Welcome Guide that includes a whole bunch of local favs and recommendations. We share our Welcome Guide with you as soon as your booking is complete.
At the time of booking, we provide a unique and personal code for our smart lock at your Wild Hair Retreat. When you arrive, you enter your door code and BAM, you’ve checked in. You are free to arrive and check in whenever you want after 4:00 PM.
